New Cafe Alert!

So the mister and I checked out the latest cafe to hit our stretch of Queen, Poor John's Cafe, at 1610 Queen St. West. We just stopped in for a couple of teas to go, but the room is deliciously warm and cozy. The menu looks like a tasty mix of sandwiches, soups and salads, and we'll definitely be making another visit soon to sample from it. They are currently open from 7 am(!) to 7 pm, and are waiting on a liquor license to boot. Check it out!

It's exciting!

Ahhh...just finished the last assignment of the term. Now I have time to relax and enjoy Christmas in the 'hood. This is one of my favorite images found in the local history collection at the Parkdale Library; it's from a 1963 edition of The Shopping News. I'd like to wish a safe and happy holiday to all my fellow Parkdalians.
